Who is Frank Chubbins?
Frank is an 80-year-old blackbird with a cosmic debt and a gift for avoidance. He has spent his entire long life finding ways to not deal with things. The universe has run out of patience. He is The Dude, if The Dude had wings and owed 10,000 karmic poop points.
Why does the bird poop on people?
In this world, blackbirds are nature's karmic equalizers. When someone is truly, cosmically naughty, a blackbird finds them and deposits a correction. This is not a joke. This is how the universe maintains balance. Each deposit restores a fragment of karmic equilibrium.
Is this a joke game?
The premise is absurd. The game is earnest. Poopborne has real dungeons, real boss fights, a real story with emotional stakes, and a villain you will not see coming. It is played completely straight — the humor comes from commitment, not from winking at the camera.
What kind of game is it?
A Metroidzeldavania — open world with 8 dungeons, each with a boss fight. New abilities unlock previously unreachable areas. Core mechanic: poop on the wicked to bank karmic points and power up. Think Zelda I meets Metroid, with a bird.
What's the story?
Frank wakes up with no memory, no purpose, and the feeling something terrible is coming. Bird Lady explains what he is and points him toward Mary — a sharp, cautious 10-year-old who knows more about the world than anyone should. Together, they face whatever is wrong with it.
What platforms will it be on?
PC via Steam is the primary target. Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox releases are planned. A free demo is coming to Steam in June 2026.
